English translation

4037. It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: "By the One in Whose Hand is my soul, this world will not pass away until a man will pass by a grave, and will roll on it and say: 'Would that I were in the place of the occupant of this grave! And the reason for that will not be any religious motive, rather it will be because of calamity.” (Sahih)

Commentary

Asking Allāh's help in hardships and trying to change matters from bad to good is the best way. Wishing for death due to mundane matters is not allowed. The concern of safekeeping and defending religion should be more important than protecting one's mundane interests.
