English translation

408. It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbās said: "The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: 'Sniff up water into the nostrils thoroughly, two or three times.'" (Hasan)

Arabic text

408 - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، ح، وحَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ، عَنْ قَارِظِ بْنِ شَيْبَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي غَطَفَانَ الْمُرِّيِّ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «اسْتَنْثِرُوا مَرَّتَيْنِ بَالِغَتَيْنِ، أَوْ ثَلَاثًا»
