Commentary

This Hadith shows the abstinence, moderation, contentment and simplicity of the Prophet ﷺ. In the last years of his blessed life, the Prophet ﷺ, used to grant dates, barley etc., as the ration for whole year to his family. But the Mothers of the Believers used to spend it generously and it used to finish before the end of the year. So, most of the time they would live without bread, meat, etc., and sometimes they do not have even dates to eat.
