Commentary

a. It is the duty of a common man to seek religious opinions from scholars who, in turn, must answer them with proofs from the Qur'an and Ahâdîth. b. Issuing religious edicts and opinions simply on the basis of subjective opinions is an act of sin. The reason being that the questioner puts his faith in the scholar and, if the scholar gives a wrong opinion, the entire responsibility of the action of the questioner will be on the scholar.
