English translation

[109] 17 - (...) It was narrated that Jâbir said: “An-Nu'mân bin Qawqal said: ‘O Messenger of Allâh...’” (And he narrated) a similar Hadîth (as no. 108), adding the words: “I shall never do any more than that.”

17 - (15) وحَدَّثَنِي حَجَّاجُ بْنُ الشَّاعِرِ، وَالْقَاسِمُ بْنُ زَكَرِيَّاءَ، قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُوسَى، عَنْ شَيْبَانَ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، وَأَبِي سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ النُّعْمَانُ بْنُ قَوْقَلٍ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، بِمِثْلِهِ، وَزَادَا فِيهِ، وَلَمْ أَزِدْ عَلَى ذَلِكَ شَيْئًا
