[2369] 83 - (...) 'Umai, the freed slave of Abû Al-Lahm, said: "My master ordered me to cut some meat into strips, and a poor person came to me so, I fed him some of it. My master found out about that and beat me. I went to the Messenger of Allâh ﷺ and told him about that and he summoned him and said: 'Why did you beat him?' He said: 'He gave my food without instructions from me.' He said: 'The reward is shared between you.'"
83 - (1025) وحَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا حَاتِمٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي عُبَيْدٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عُمَيْرًا، مَوْلَى آبِي اللَّحْمِ قَالَ: أَمَرَنِي مَوْلَايَ أَنْ أُقَدِّدَ لَحْمًا، فَجَاءَنِي مِسْكِينٌ، فَأَطْعَمْتُهُ مِنْهُ، فَعَلِمَ بِذَلِكَ مَوْلَايَ فَضَرَبَنِي، فَأَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لَهُ، فَدَعَاهُ فَقَالَ: «لِمَ ضَرَبْتَهُ؟» فَقَالَ: يُعْطِي طَعَامِي بِغَيْرِ أَنْ آمُرَهُ، فَقَالَ: «الْأَجْرُ بَيْنَكُمَا»
