[2656] 127 - (1130) It wasnarrated that Ibn 'Abbâs [mayAllâh be pleased with them] said:"The Messenger of Allâh ﷺcame to Al-Madinah, and hefound the Jews fasting on the dayof Âshûrâ. They were askedabout that and they said: 'This isthe day on which Allâh grantedvictory to Mûsâ and the Childrenof Israel over Fir'awn (Pharaoh).We fast on this day out ofreverence for it.' The Prophet ﷺsaid: 'We are closer to Mûsâ thanyou,' and he enjoined fasting onthat day."
127 - (1130) حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى، أَخْبَرَنَا هُشَيْمٌ، عَنْ أَبِي بِشْرٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا، قَالَ: قَدِمَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْمَدِينَةَ، فَوَجَدَ الْيَهُودَ يَصُومُونَ يَوْمَ عَاشُورَاءَ فَسُئِلُوا عَنْ ذَلِكَ؟ فَقَالُوا: هَذَا الْيَوْمُ الَّذِي أَظْهَرَ اللهُ فِيهِ مُوسَى، وَبَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ عَلَى فِرْعَوْنَ، فَنَحْنُ نَصُومُهُ تَعْظِيمًا لَهُ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «نَحْنُ أَوْلَى بِمُوسَى مِنْكُمْ فَأَمَرَ بِصَوْمِهِ»
