English translation
[2706] 163 - (...) Abū Hurairah[may Allāh be pleased with them]said: “The Messenger of Allāh ﷺsaid: ‘Allāh, the Most High, said:‘Every deed of the son of Ādamis for him, except fasting. It is forMe, and I shall reward for it.’Fasting is a shield, so when it is aday when one of you is fasting,let him not utter any obscenespeech that day nor raise hisvoice. If anyone reviles him, orargues with him, let him say: “Iam a man who is fasting, I amfasting.” By the One in WhoseHand is the soul of Muḥammad!The smell of the mouth of thefasting person will be better toAllāh on the Day of Resurrectionthan the fragrance of musk. Thefasting person has two momentsof joy that he rejoices in: Whenhe breaks his fast he rejoices atbreaking his fast, and when hemeets his Lord he will rejoice inhis fasting.”
