[2943] 141 - (1216) 'Atâ' said:"I heard Jâbir bin 'Abdullâh [mayAllâh be pleased with them],along with some people whowere with me, say: 'We, theCompanions of Muḥammad ﷺ,entered Iḥrâm for Hajj only.'" 'Atâ' said: "Jâbir said: 'TheProphet ﷺ came on the morningof the fourth of Dhul-Hijjah andtold us to exit Iḥrâm.' 'Atâ' said:"He said: 'Exit Iḥrâm and youmay have intercourse with yourwives.'" 'Atâ' said: "He did not insist onthat for them, but he made itpermissible for them. We said:'When there are only five daysbetween us and 'Arafah, he told usto have intercourse with ourwives, so we will come to 'Arafahwith our private parts stilldripping with semen!'" He said:"Jâbir gestured with his hand, and it is as if I can see his handmoving." He said: "The Prophetﷺ stood up among us and said:'You know that I am the one whofears Allâh the most among you,and I am the most truthfulamong you and the mostrighteous. Were it not for mysacrificial animal, I would have exited Ihrâm as you have done. If I had known before what I know now, I would not have brought the sacrificial animal. Exit Ihrâm.' So we exited Ihrâm, and we listened and obeyed." 'Aṭā' said: 'Jābir said: 'Then 'Alī came from his (Zakāt) collecting mission and he (the Prophet ﷺ) said: 'For what did you enter Ihrâm?' He said: 'For the same as the Prophet ﷺ entered Ihrâm.' The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said to him: 'Bring your sacrificial animal and remain in Ihrâm.' So 'Alī brought him a sacrificial animal. Surāqah bin Mālik said: 'O Messenger of Allāh, is it just for this year or forever?' He said: 'Forever.'"
