English translation
[3068] 249 - (...) It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that 'Umar kissed the Stone and said: "I am kissing you, although I know that you are just a stone, but I saw the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ kiss you."

249 - (1270) وحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الْمُقَدَّمِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ، قَبَّلَ الْحَجَرَ، وَقَالَ: «إِنِّي لَأُقَبِّلُكَ وَإِنِّي لَأَعْلَمُ أَنَّكَ حَجَرٌ، وَلَكِنِّي رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُقَبِّلُكَ»
