[3083] 263 - (...) It was narrated from 'Urwah bin Az-Zubair that 'Aishah told him that before the Anṣār became Muslim, they and (the tribe of) Ghassān used to enter Ihram for Manāt, and they felt reluctant to go between Aṣ-Ṣafā and Al-Marwah, because that had been the practice of their forefathers; the one who entered Ihram for Manāt did not go between Aṣ-Ṣafā and Al-Marwah. They asked the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ about that when they accepted Islam, and Allāh, the Mighty and Sublime, revealed: "Verily, Aṣ-Ṣafā and Al-Marwah are of the Symbols of Allāh. So it is not a sin on him who performs Hajj or Umrah of the House to perform the going (Tawāf) between them (Aṣ-Ṣafā and Al-Marwah). And whoever does good voluntarily, then verily, Allāh is All-Recogniser, All-Knower".[1]
