English translation

[3084] 264 - (1278) It was narrated that Anas said: "The Anṣār did not like to go between Aṣ-Ṣafā and Al-Marwah until Allāh revealed: "Verily, Aṣ-Ṣafā and Al-Marwah are of the Symbols of Allāh. So it is not a sin on him who performs Hajj or Umrah of the House to perform the going (Tawāf) between them (Aṣ-Ṣafā and Al-Marwah)..."[2]

264 - (1278) وحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، قَالَ: " كَانَتِ الْأَنْصَارُ يَكْرَهُونَ أَنْ يَطُوفُوا بَيْنَ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةِ، حَتَّى نَزَلَتْ: {إِنَّ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةَ مِنْ شَعَائِرِ} [البقرة: 158] اللهِ، فَمَنْ حَجَّ الْبَيْتَ أَوِ اعْتَمَرَ فَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْهِ أَنْ يَطَّوَّفَ بِهِمَا "
