English translation

[318] 189 - (120) It was narrated that 'Abdullāh said: "Some people said to the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ: 'O Messenger of Allāh, will we be punished for what we did during the Jāhiliyyah?' He ﷺ said: 'As for whoever among you does good in Islam, then he will not be punished for it, but whoever does evil, he will be held punishable for his actions during the Jāhiliyyah and in Islam.'"
