English translation

[3491] 80 - (...) It was narrated from Anas bin Mâlik that 'Abdur-Rahmân bin 'Awf got married at the time of the Messenger of Allâh ﷺ, for a date-stone's weight of gold. The Messenger of Allâh ﷺ said to him: "Give a feast, even if it is with a sheep."

80 - (1427) وحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ الْغُبَرِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ عَوْفٍ، تَزَوَّجَ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، عَلَى وَزْنِ نَوَاةٍ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ، فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «أَوْلِمْ وَلَوْ بِشَاةٍ»
