English translation

[3631] 49 - (1464) It was narrated that ‘Aishah said: “I used to feel jealous of the women who offered themselves (in marriage) to the Messenger of Allâh ﷺ, and I would say: ‘Would a woman offer herself?’ When Allâh, the Most High, revealed the words: “You can postpone (the turn of) whom you will of them (your wives), and you may receive whom you will. And whomsoever you desire of those whom you have set aside (her turn temporarily), ...,”[1] I said: ‘By Allâh, I see that your Lord is quick to respond to your wishes.”
