English translation

[4006] 36 - (1566) It was narrated from Abû Hurairah that the Messenger of Allâh ﷺ said: "Surplus water should not be withheld so as to prevent the growth of greenery."

Arabic text

36 - (1566) حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى، قَالَ: قَرَأْتُ عَلَى مَالِكٍ، ح وحَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ كِلَاهُمَا، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ، عَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «لَا يُمْنَعُ فَضْلُ الْمَاءِ لِيُمْنَعَ بِهِ الْكَلَأُ»
