It was narrated that ‘Umar bin Muslim bin ‘Umârah bin Ukaimah Al-Laithî said: “I heard Sa’eed bin Al-Musaïyyab say: ‘I heard Umm Salamah, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ, say: “The Messenger of Allâh ﷺ said: ‘Whoever has an animal to sacrifice, when the crescent moon of Dhul-Hijjah appears, let him not remove anything from his hair or nails, until he has offered his sacrifice.’”
