Text and translation

English translation

[5892] 6 - (...) It was narrated that Abû Salamah bin 'Abdur-Rahmân said: I heard Abû Hurairah say: I heard the Messenger of Allâh ﷺ say: "The truest word that a poet ever said was the words of Labîd: 'Surely! Everything apart from Allâh is in vain.'" And he did not say any more than that.
