English translation

[6088] 112 - (2346) It was narrated that 'Abdullāh bin Sarjis said: "I saw the Prophet ﷺ and I ate bread and meat with him" - or he said: "Tharīd." He (the narrator) said: "I said to him: 'Did the Prophet ﷺ pray for forgiveness for you?' He said: 'Yes, and for you.' Then he recited this Verse: 'And ask forgiveness for your sin, and also for (the sin of) believing men and believing women.'"[1] He said: "Then I went behind him and looked at the Seal of Prophet-hood between his shoulders, near his left shoulder blade, the shape of a palm with the fingers held together, and on it were spots like moles."

112 - (2346) حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كَامِلٍ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ زَيْدٍ، ح وحَدَّثَنِي سُوَيْدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْهِرٍ، كِلَاهُمَا عَنْ عَاصِمٍ الْأَحْوَلِ، ح وحَدَّثَنِي حَامِدُ بْنُ عُمَرَ الْبَكْرَاوِيُّ - وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ -، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ زِيَادٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَاصِمٌ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ سَرْجِسَ، قَالَ: رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَكَلْتُ مَعَهُ خُبْزًا وَلَحْمًا، أَوْ قَالَ ثَرِيدًا، قَالَ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ: أَسْتَغْفَرَ لَكَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ، وَلَكَ، ثُمَّ تَلَا هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ {وَاسْتَغْفِرْ لِذَنْبِكَ وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِ} [محمد: 19] قَالَ: ثُمَّ دُرْتُ خَلْفَهُ «فَنَظَرْتُ إِلَى خَاتَمِ النُّبُوَّةِ بَيْنَ كَتِفَيْهِ. عِنْدَ نَاغِضِ كَتِفِهِ الْيُسْرَى. جُمْعًا عَلَيْهِ خِيلَانٌ كَأَمْثَالِ الثَّآلِيلِ»
