English translation

[6479] 217 - (2537) 'Abdullāh bin 'Umar said: "The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ led us in Ishā prayer one night at the end of his life, then when he had said the Salām, he stood up and said: 'Have you seen this night of yours? One hundred years from now, there will be no one left who is on the face of the earth.'" Ibn 'Umar said: "The people did not understand these words of the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ about one hundred years, and they interpreted the Hadith incorrectly; all that the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said was 'One hundred years from now, there will be no one left who is on the face of the earth' meaning that that generation would come to an end.”
