English translation

[6776] 2 - (2666) Abū Imrān Al-Jawnī said: ‘Abdullāh bin Rabāh Al-Anṣārī wrote to me (saying) that ‘Abdullāh bin ‘Amr said: “I went to the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ one day, and he heard the voices of two men arguing about a Verse (of the Qur’ān). The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ came out to them, and signs of anger could be seen on his face. He said: ‘Those who came before you were only doomed because they argued about the Book.’”
