English translation

[7173] 35 - (...) It was narrated from Abû Hurairah that the Prophet ﷺ said: “The Fire and Paradise disputed. The Fire said: ‘I have been favored with the arrogant and proud.’ Paradise said: ‘What is the matter with me, that no one will enter me except the weak, humble and downtrodden?’ Allâh, Glorified and Exalted is He, said to Paradise: ‘You are My mercy, by which I will show mercy to whomsoever I will of My slaves.’ And He said to the Fire: ‘You are My punishment, with which I will punish whomsoever I will of My slaves. And each of you will be full.’ As for the Fire, it will not be full until He puts His Foot on it and it says: ‘Enough, enough.’ Then it will be full, and all its parts will be integrated together.”

35 - (2846) وحَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شَبَابَةُ، حَدَّثَنِي وَرْقَاءُ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ، عَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " تَحَاجَّتِ النَّارُ، وَالْجَنَّةُ، فَقَالَتِ النَّارُ: أُوثِرْتُ بِالْمُتَكَبِّرِينَ، وَالْمُتَجَبِّرِينَ، وَقَالَتِ الْجَنَّةُ: فَمَا لِي لَا يَدْخُلُنِي إِلَّا ضُعَفَاءُ النَّاسِ، وَسَقَطُهُمْ، وَعَجَزُهُمْ، فَقَالَ اللهُ لِلْجَنَّةِ: أَنْتِ رَحْمَتِي أَرْحَمُ بِكِ مَنْ أَشَاءُ مِنْ عِبَادِي، وَقَالَ لِلنَّارِ: أَنْتِ عَذَابِي أُعَذِّبُ بِكِ مَنْ أَشَاءُ مِنْ عِبَادِي، وَلِكُلِّ وَاحِدَةٍ مِنْكُمْ مِلْؤُهَا، فَأَمَّا النَّارُ فَلَا تَمْتَلِئُ، فَيَضَعُ قَدَمَهُ عَلَيْهَا، فَتَقُولُ: قَطْ قَطْ فَهُنَالِكَ تَمْتَلِئُ وَيُزْوَى بَعْضُهَا إِلَى بَعْضٍ "،
