[7191] 49 - (2855) It was narrated that ‘Abdullâh bin Zam‘ah said: “The Messenger of Allâh ﷺ delivered a Khutbah, and he mentioned the she-camel, and the one who slaughtered it. He said: ‘When the most wicked man among them went forth (to kill the she-camel)’”[1] An evil and powerful man, who was of a high status among his people like Abû Zam‘ah. Then he mentioned women and exhorted (the men) with regard to them and said: ‘Why would one of you flog his wife’ – according to the report of Abû Bakr: ‘flog the slave woman.’ According to the report of Abû Kuraib: ‘flog the slave’ – ‘and then sleep with her at the end of the day?’ Then he spoke to them regarding their laughing upon breaking wind, and said: ‘Why would one of you laugh at something he himself does?’”
