[952] 105 - (274) Al-Mughîrahbin Shu'bah narrated that hewent with the Messenger of Allâhﷺ on the campaign to Tabûk.Al-Mughîrah said: "TheMessenger of Allâh ﷺ went out(to relieve himself). I carried avessel of water for him, beforeFajr prayer. When the Messengerof Allâh ﷺ came back to me, Istarted pouring water onto hishands from the vessel. Hewashed his hands three times,then he washed his face, then hewent to roll the sleeves of hiscloak back from his forearms butthey were too tight, so he broughthis arms inside the cloak andthen brought them out frombeneath it, and washed hisforearms up to the elbows. Thenhe wiped over his Khuff, then hemoved on." Al-Mughîrah said: "I came withhim and we found that thepeople had appointed 'Abdur-Raḥmân bin 'Awf to lead them inprayer. The Messenger of Allâhﷺ caught up with one of theRak'ah, so he prayed the lastRak'ah with the people, thenwhen 'Abdur-Raḥmân bin 'Awfsaid the Salâm, the Messenger ofAllâh ﷺ stood up to completehis prayer. That startled the Muslims and they started to say Subhān Allāh. When the Prophet had finished his prayer, he turned to the people and said: 'You did well,' or, 'You did the right thing,' and was pleased that they had offered the prayer on time." [٦٢٦]
