English translation

[153] 58 - (...) It was narrated that Abû Hurairah said: "The Messenger of Allâh ﷺ said: 'Faith has seventy-odd' - or 'sixty-odd' - branches, the best of which is saying Lâ ilâha illallâh, and the least of which is removing something harmful from the road, and modesty (Al-Hayâ) is a branch of faith."

٥٨ - (٣٥) حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ. حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ، عَنْ سُهَيْلٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ؛ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: "الإِيمَانُ بِضْعٌ وَسِتُّونَ شُعْبَةً. فَأَفْضَلُهَا قَوْلُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ. وَأَدْنَاهَا إِمَاطَةُ الأَذَى عَنِ الطَّرِيقِ. والحياء شعبة من الإيمان".
