English translation

[1678] 88 - (...) It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that Hafṣah said: "When dawn broke, the Messenger of Allâh ﷺ would not pray anything except two brief Rak'ah."

Arabic text

88 - (723) وحَدَّثَنِي أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ نَافِعًا، يُحَدِّثُ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، عَنْ حَفْصَةَ، قَالَتْ: «كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا طَلَعَ الْفَجْرُ، لَا يُصَلِّي إِلَّا رَكْعَتَيْنِ خَفِيفَتَيْنِ».
