English translation
[1959] (...) It was narrated from 'Urwah that 'Aishah said: "The people were workers and they did not have any servants, so they smelled bad. It was said to them: 'You should perform Ghusl on Fridays.'"

(847) وحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا اللَّيْثُ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ عَمْرَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ: كَانَ النَّاسُ أَهْلَ عَمَلٍ، وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُمْ كُفَاةٌ، فَكَانُوا يَكُونُ لَهُمْ تَفَلٌ، فَقِيلَ لَهُمْ: «لَوِ اغْتَسَلْتُمْ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ»
