English translation
[2111] 18 - (908) It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbâs said: "The Messenger of Allâh ﷺ prayed with eight bowings and four prostrations when the sun was eclipsed." A similar report was also narrated from 'Alî.

18 - (908) حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ابْنُ عُلَيَّةَ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ حَبِيبٍ، عَنْ طَاوُسٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ: «صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حِينَ كَسَفَتِ الشَّمْسُ، ثَمَانَ رَكَعَاتٍ فِي أَرْبَعِ سَجَدَاتٍ». وَعَنْ عَلِيٍّ مِثْلُ ذَلِكَ
