Text and translation

English translation

[2400] 106 - (1042) It was narrated that Abû Hurairah said: “I heard the Messenger of Allâh ﷺ say: ‘For one of you to go out and gather firewood on his back, then give it in charity and make himself independent of people thereby, is better than asking a man who may give to him or withhold from him. And the upper hand is better than the lower hand, and start with those who are under your care.’”
