[2428] 127 - (1056) It was narrated that Salmân bin Rabî'ah said: 'Umar bin Al-Khaṭṭâb (May Allâh he pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allâh ﷺ shared out (some wealth) and I said: "By Allâh, O Messenger of Allâh, others deserved to have it more than these people." He said: "They gave me the choice of having them ask importunately or regard me as a miser, and I am not a miser."
127 - (1056) حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، وَزُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، وَإِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْحَنْظَلِيُّ، - قَالَ إِسْحَاقُ: أَخْبَرَنَا، وَقَالَ الْآخَرَانِ: - حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ، عَنْ سَلْمَانَ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ: قَسَمَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَسْمًا، فَقُلْتُ: وَاللهِ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، لَغَيْرُ هَؤُلَاءِ كَانَ أَحَقَّ بِهِ مِنْهُمْ، قَالَ: «إِنَّهُمْ خَيَّرُونِي أَنْ يَسْأَلُونِي بِالْفُحْشِ أَوْ يُبَخِّلُونِي، فَلَسْتُ بِبَاخِلٍ»
