English translation
[285] 165 - (103) It was narrated that 'Abdullāh said: "The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: 'He is not one of us who strikes his cheeks, tears his garment, or cries with the cry of the Jāhiliyyah.'"

165 - (103) حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ ح، وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، وَوَكِيعٌ ح، وَحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي جَمِيعًا عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مُرَّةَ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «لَيْسَ مِنَّا مَنْ ضَرَبَ الْخُدُودَ، أَوْ شَقَّ الْجُيُوبَ، أَوْ دَعَا بِدَعْوَى الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ» هَذَا حَدِيثُ يَحْيَى، وَأَمَّا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ، وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ فَقَالَا: «وَشَقَّ وَدَعَا بِغَيْرِ أَلِفٍ»،
