English translation

[29] Sa'eed bin 'Abdul 'Aziz said: It was narrated that Sulaimân bin Mûsâ said: "I said to Tâwûs: 'So-and-so narrated such-and-such to me.' He said: 'If your companion is Malîy'an (able), then learn from him."

Arabic text

وَحَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الدَّارِمِيُّ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَرْوَانُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ مُحَمَّدٍ الدِّمَشْقِيَّ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ مُوسَى قَالَ: قُلْتُ لِطَاوُسٍ: إِنَّ فُلَانًا حَدَّثَنِي بِكَذَا وَكَذَا، قَالَ: «إِنْ كَانَ صَاحِبُكَ مَلِيًّا، فَخُذْ عَنْهُ»
