English translation

[2973] 166 - (...) It was narrated from Al-Jurairī with this chain (a Hadīth similar to no. 2972). Ibn Ḥātim said in his report: "It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks," meaning 'Umar.

166 - (1226) وحَدَّثَنَاه إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَاتِمٍ، كِلَاهُمَا عَنْ وَكِيعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنِ الْجُرَيْرِيِّ فِي هَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ وَقَالَ ابْنُ حَاتِمٍ فِي رِوَايَتِهِ ارْتَأَى رَجُلٌ بِرَأْيِهِ مَا شَاءَ يَعْنِي عُمَرَ
