English translation

[3332] 471 - (1372) It was narrated that Abû Hurairah used to say: "If I saw gazelles grazing in Al-Madînah I would not disturb them. The Messenger of Allâh ﷺ said: 'The area between its two lava fields is a sanctuary.'"

Arabic text

471 - (1372) حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى، قَالَ: قَرَأْتُ عَلَى مَالِكٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقُولُ: لَوْ رَأَيْتُ الظِّبَاءَ تَرْتَعُ بِالْمَدِينَةِ مَا ذَعَرْتُهَا، قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَا بَيْنَ لَابَتَيْهَا حَرَامٌ»
