English translation

[3333] 472 - (...) It was narrated that Abû Hurairah said: "The Messenger of Allâh ﷺ declared what is between the two lava fields of Al-Madînah sacred." Abû Hurairah said: "If I found gazelles between the two lava fields, I would not disturb them." And he made twelve miles around Al-Madînah a Hima (sanctuary).

472 - (1372) وحَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ، وَعَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ، قَالَ إِسْحَاقُ: أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: «حَرَّمَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَا بَيْنَ لَابَتَيِ الْمَدِينَةِ»، قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ: «فَلَوْ وَجَدْتُ الظِّبَاءَ مَا بَيْنَ لَابَتَيْهَا مَا ذَعَرْتُهَا»، وَجَعَلَ اثْنَيْ عَشَرَ مِيلًا حَوْلَ الْمَدِينَةِ حِمًى
