English translation

[359] 224 - (...) It was narrated that Wā'il bin Hujr said: "I was with the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ when two men came to him with a dispute about land. One of them said: 'This man appropriated my land, O Messenger of Allāh, during the Jāhiliyyah.' That was Imru' Al-Qais bin 'Abīs Al-Kindī, and his opponent was Rabī'ah bin 'Ibdān. He (ﷺ) said: 'Bring your proof.' He said: 'I have no proof.' He said: 'His oath.' He (ﷺ) said: 'He will take (the land).' He (ﷺ) said: 'You have no other choice.' When the man stood up to swear his oath, the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: 'Whoever seizes land unlawfully, he will meet Allāh while He is angry with him.'" Ishāq (another narrator) said in his report, that it was Rabī'ah bin 'Aydān.

224 - (139) وَحَدَّثَنِي زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، وَإِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، جَمِيعًا عَنْ أَبِي الْوَلِيدِ، قَالَ زُهَيْرٌ: حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ وَائِلٍ، عَنْ وَائِلِ بْنِ حُجْرٍ، قَالَ: كُنْتُ عِنْدَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَأَتَاهُ رَجُلَانِ يَخْتَصِمَانِ فِي أَرْضٍ، فَقَالَ أَحَدُهُمَا: إِنَّ هَذَا انْتَزَى عَلَى أَرْضِي يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ - وَهُوَ امْرُؤُ الْقَيْسِ بْنُ عَابِسٍ الْكِنْدِيُّ، وَخَصْمُهُ رَبِيعَةُ بْنُ عِبْدَانَ - قَالَ: «بَيِّنَتُكَ» قَالَ: لَيْسَ لِي بَيِّنَةٌ، قَالَ: «يَمِينُهُ» قَالَ: إِذَنْ يَذْهَبُ بِهَا، قَالَ: «لَيْسَ لَكَ إِلَّا ذَاكَ»، قَالَ: فَلَمَّا قَامَ لِيَحْلِفَ، قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَنِ اقْتَطَعَ أَرْضًا ظَالِمًا، لَقِيَ اللهَ وَهُوَ عَلَيْهِ غَضْبَانُ»، قَالَ إِسْحَاقُ فِي رِوَايَتِهِ: رَبِيعَةُ بْنُ عَيْدَانَ
