English translation

[4007] 37 - (...) It was narrated that Abû Hurairah said: "The Messenger of Allâh ﷺ said: 'Do not withhold surplus water so as to prevent the growth of greenery.'"

Arabic text

37 - (1566) وحَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الطَّاهِرِ، وَحَرْمَلَةُ، وَاللَّفْظُ لِحَرْمَلَةَ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، حَدَّثَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ الْمُسَيِّبِ، وَأَبُو سَلَمَةَ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «لَا تَمْنَعُوا فَضْلَ الْمَاءِ لِتَمْنَعُوا بِهِ الْكَلَأَ»
