English translation

[4591] 61 - (1765) It was narrated that Abû Hurairah said: Whilst we were in the Masjid, the Messenger of Allâh ﷺ came out to us and said: "Let us go to the Jews." So we went out with him, until we reached them. The Messenger of Allâh ﷺ stood and called them, saying: "O Jews, become Muslim and you will be safe." They said: You have conveyed (the message), O Abul-Qâsim! The Messenger of Allâh ﷺ said: "That is what I want. Become Muslim and you will be safe." They said: You have conveyed (the message), O Abul-Qâsim! The Messenger of Allâh ﷺ said: "That is what I want." He said it to them a third time, then he said: "Know that the land belongs only to Allâh and His Messenger, and I intend to expel you from this land. Whoever among you has any property, let him sell it, otherwise, know that the land belongs to Allâh and His Messenger."

61 - (1765) حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ: بَيْنَا نَحْنُ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ إِذْ خَرَجَ إِلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ: «انْطَلِقُوا إِلَى يَهُودَ»، فَخَرَجْنَا مَعَهُ حَتَّى جِئْنَاهُمْ، فَقَامَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَنَادَاهُمْ، فَقَالَ: «يَا مَعْشَرَ يَهُودَ، أَسْلِمُوا تَسْلَمُوا»، فَقَالُوا: قَدْ بَلَّغْتَ يَا أَبَا الْقَاسِمِ، فَقَالَ لَهُمْ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «ذَلِكَ أُرِيدُ، أَسْلِمُوا تَسْلَمُوا»، فَقَالُوا: قَدْ بَلَّغْتَ يَا أَبَا الْقَاسِمِ، فَقَالَ لَهُمْ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «ذَلِكَ أُرِيدُ»، فَقَالَ لَهُمُ الثَّالِثَةَ: فَقَالَ: «اعْلَمُوا أَنَّمَا الْأَرْضُ لِلَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ، وَأَنِّي أُرِيدُ أَنْ أُجْلِيَكُمْ مِنْ هَذِهِ الْأَرْضِ، فَمَنْ وَجَدَ مِنْكُمْ بِمَالِهِ شَيْئًا فَلْيَبِعْهُ، وَإِلَّا فَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّ الْأَرْضَ لِلَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ»
