English translation

[4625] 87 - (1781) It was narrated that 'Abdullâh said: The Prophet ﷺ entered Makkah, and around the Ka'bah there were three hundred and sixty idols. He started poking them with a stick that was in his hand, saying: "Truth (i.e. Islamic Monotheism or this Qur'an or Jihâd against polytheists) has come and Bâtîl (falsehood, i.e. Satan or polytheism) has vanished. Surely, Bâtîl is ever bound to vanish" [Al-Isrâ' 17:81] and "Al-Haqq (the truth, i.e. the Qur'an and Allâh's Revelation) has come, and Al-Bâtîl [falsehood - Iblees (Satan)] can neither create anything nor resurrect (anything)" [Sabâ' 34:49]. Ibn 'Umar added: On the day of the conquest.
