English translation

[5076] 8 - (...) Al-Barâ' bin 'Âzib narrated: "The Messenger of Allâh ﷺ addressed us on the Day of Sacrifice and said: 'No one should offer the sacrifice until he has prayed.' A man said: 'I have a weanling female goat that is better than two sheep for meat.' He said: "Sacrifice it, but no Jadh'ah will suffice for anyone after you." [1] This has also preceded in the Book of Zakât. It is that whose second set of teeth have come in, and in the case of sheep it is the second year. See Minnat Al-Mun'im.

8 - (1961) وحَدَّثَنِي أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ صَخْرٍ الدَّارِمِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو النُّعْمَانِ عَارِمُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ زِيَادٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَاصِمٌ الْأَحْوَلُ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ، حَدَّثَنِي الْبَرَاءُ بْنُ عَازِبٍ، قَالَ: خَطَبَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي يَوْمِ نَحْرٍ، فَقَالَ: «لَا يُضَحِّيَنَّ أَحَدٌ حَتَّى يُصَلِّيَ»، قَالَ رَجُلٌ: عِنْدِي عَنَاقُ لَبَنٍ هِيَ خَيْرٌ مِنْ شَاتَيْ لَحْمٍ، قَالَ: «فَضَحِّ بِهَا، وَلَا تَجْزِي جَذَعَةٌ عَنْ أَحَدٍ بَعْدَكَ»
