English translation

[5208] 64 - (...) It was narratedfrom Ibn Buraidah, from hisfather, that the Messenger ofAllâh ﷺ said: "I forbade you touse vessels because vessels do notmake anything Halâl or Harâm,and all intoxicants are Harâm."

Arabic text

64 - (1999) وحَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ الشَّاعِرِ، حَدَّثَنَا ضَحَّاكُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ مَرْثَدٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «نَهَيْتُكُمْ عَنِ الظُّرُوفِ، وَإِنَّ الظُّرُوفَ - أَوْ ظَرْفًا - لَا يُحِلُّ شَيْئًا وَلَا يُحَرِّمُهُ، وَكُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ حَرَامٌ»
