[5992] (...) The Hadîth of theCistern was narrated from Thawbân,from the Messenger of Allâh ﷺ. I said[1] to Yahya bin Hammâd (a narrator): "Did you hear this Hadith from Abû 'Awânah?" He said: "I also heard it from Shu'bah." I said: "Look at it for me." So he looked for me, then he narrated it to me.
37 - وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَمَّادٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ، عَنْ مَعْدَانَ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَدِيثَ الْحَوْضِ فَقُلْتُ: لِيَحْيَى بْنِ حَمَّادٍ: هَذَا حَدِيثٌ سَمِعْتَهُ مِنْ أَبِي عَوَانَةَ، فَقَالَ: وَسَمِعْتُهُ أَيْضًا مِنْ شُعْبَةَ فَقُلْتُ: انْظُرْ لِي فِيهِ، فَنَظَرَ لِي فِيهِ فَحَدَّثَنِي بِهِ
