'Āishah, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ said: "The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ used to say when he was healthy: 'No Prophet ever dies until he has been shown his place in Paradise, then he is given the choice.' 'Āishah said: "When the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ was about to die, and his head was on my thigh, he lost consciousness for a while then he woke up, and his eyes were staring fixedly at the ceiling, then he said: 'O Allāh, the higher companionship.'"
'Āishah said: "I said: 'Then he is not going to choose us.'"
'Āishah said: "I remembered the Hadīth that he used to say when he was healthy: 'No Prophet ever dies until he has been shown his place in Paradise, then he is given the choice.'"
