English translation
[2797] 50 - (...) Sālim bin 'Abdullāh bin 'Umar said: "O people of Al-'Irāq, how often you ask about minor issues when you are committing major sins? I heard my father, 'Abdullāh bin 'Umar, say: I heard the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ say: 'Tribulation will come from there,' and he pointed with his hand towards the east, 'where the horns of the Shaitān appear.' You are striking one another's necks, but Mūsā killed the one whom he killed of Pharaoh's people by mistake, and Allāh, Glorified and Exalted is He, said to him: '...Then you did kill a man, but We saved you from great distress and tried you with a heavy trial...' [1] Aḥmad bin 'Umar said in his report: "from Sālim," he did not say: "I heard Sālim." [1] Ta-Ha 20:40.
