English translation

[7344] 85 - (2924) It was narrated that 'Abdullāh said: "We were with the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ and we passed by some boys among whom was Ibn Ṣayyād. The boys went away and Ibn Ṣayyād sat down. It was as if the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ did not like that. The Prophet ﷺ said to him: 'May your hands be rubbed with dust. Do you bear witness that I am the Messenger of Allāh?' He said: 'No; rather you should bear witness that I am the messenger of Allāh.' 'Umar bin Al-Khaṭṭāb said: 'O Messenger of Allāh, let me kill him.' The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: 'If he is who you think he is, you will never be able to kill him'"
