English translation

1320. It was narrated that ‘Abdullâh said: “I saw the Messenger of Allâh ﷺ saying the Takbîr every time he went down or came up, or stood or sat, and he said the Salâm to his right and to his left: As-salâmu 'alaykum wa rahmatullâh, as-salâmu 'alaykum wa rahmatullâh (Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allâh, peace be upon you and the mercy of Allâh), until the whiteness of his cheek could be seen. And I saw Abû Bakr and 'Umar, may Allâh be pleased with them, doing likewise." (Ṣaḥīḥ)
