English translation

1903. It was narrated that 'Amr heard Jâbir say: "And Al-'Abbâs was in Al-Madînah, and he asked the Anshâr for a garment to clothe him in, but they could not find a shirt that would fit him except the shirt of 'Abdullâh bin Ubayy, so they clothed him in it." (Sahîh)

Arabic text

1902 - أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الزُّهْرِيُّ الْبَصْرِىُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَمْرٍو، سَمِعَ جَابِرًا، يَقُولُ: «وَكَانَ الْعَبَّاسُ بِالْمَدِينَةِ، فَطَلَبَتِ الْأَنْصَارُ ثَوْبًا يَكْسُونَهُ، فَلَمْ يَجِدُوا قَمِيصًا يَصْلُحُ عَلَيْهِ إِلَّا قَمِيصَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أُبَيٍّ فَكَسَوْهُ إِيَّاهُ»
