English translation
2121. It was narrated from Abū Hurairah that the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: "When you see the crescent then fast, and when you see it, stop fasting. If it is obscured from you (too cloudy), then fast thirty days." (Sahīh)

2119 - أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ النَّيْسَابُورِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: «إِذَا رَأَيْتُمُ الْهِلَالَ فَصُومُوا، وَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمُوهُ فَأَفْطِرُوا، فَإِنْ غُمَّ عَلَيْكُمْ فَصُومُوا ثَلَاثِينَ يَوْمًا»
