English translation

2648. It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbâs said: "A woman lifted a child up to the Messenger of Allâh ﷺ and said: 'Is there Hajj for this one?' He said: 'Yes, and you will be rewarded.'" (Sahîh)

Arabic text

2647 - أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عُقْبَةَ، عَنْ كُرَيْبٍ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ: رَفَعَتِ امْرَأَةٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَبِيًّا، فَقَالَتْ: أَلِهَذَا حَجٌّ؟ قَالَ: «نَعَمْ، وَلَكِ أَجْرٌ»

Commentary

"And there would be a reward for you": The formulation of intention for reward is essential in the circumstances of the child's being very small. But if the young is of the age of discrimination, he would obviously perform the deeds on his own.
