Text and translation

English translation

2689. It was narrated that 'Āishah said: "I put perfume on the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ for his exiting Ihrâm, and I put perfume on him for his Ihrâm, perfume which was not like this perfume of yours" - she meant that it does not last. (Sahīh)

Commentary

Meaning that perfume was far better and superior than your perfume. Your perfume does not linger on, but his perfume lingered on for a long time.
